The Steps of Writing an Essay
The Steps of Writing an EssayThe steps of writing an essay are similar to those of other forms of writing. They can be broken down into the following four steps. These are the introduction, body, conclusion and argument. The introduction is the most important thing to do before you start writing your essay. Introduce yourself in your introduction and it will set the tone for the rest of the essay. A good introduction can be one that helps you gain more confidence in writing. This step is the easiest to do but it is not as easy as it may seem. What you need to do is to take a look at the topic of the essay and find out whether you have all the facts. If you don't have enough facts, ask for them and find someone who can give you the information. Use facts to help you write your essay. This step is where you make a simple problem for yourself. By this, I mean that you are confronting your problems in your own essay. It can be a problem that you have always faced or it can be something that you have just recently encountered. Use this to help you deal with your essay. The body is where you begin writing. You should only use the first ten to fifteen sentences of your essay and include a couple of paragraphs before you move on to the conclusion. This is also the place where you can introduce your conclusion. For the conclusion, you should bring up your arguments. If you bring up your arguments in your conclusion, you will be better able to prove your points. The last part of your essay is the argument. This is where you focus on what you believe and it is where you actually develop your argument. Make sure that you clearly state your argument in the body of your essay so that you will be better able to develop your argument. While these steps are similar to those of other forms of writing, the steps of writing an essay can sometimes be difficult. Use these steps to write your essay and you will be able to write a good essay.

The False Moon by Shirley Golden Essay Example
The False Moon by Shirley Golden Paper Socialization is the procedure where a child slowly develops into an independent person. During the process, sociologists say that the main socialization happens at home. We reflect ourselves in our parents. It is therefore central for children to have stable homes, with good values and love, which is the essence of this short story. The False Moon is written by the American writer, Shirley Golden, in 2011. In this assignment I want to analyse the short story by looking at the narrator, the main character relationship to his mother, the title and the symbols. The short story is told by a first-person narrator, who is called Matt. On page 1, line 14, we get a physical description of the narrator, which helps us visualize how he looks: ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m lanky, skinny, Im told, with large eyes and lashes more suited to a girlâ⬠. We also get the impression of him being lazy and tired of life. Page 1, line 26: ââ¬Å"It was easy not to care, and I wasnt the sort to start a fightâ⬠. Here we can feel how tired the narrator is of his life conditions. Matt is very fervent about painting, and this is the only thing which drives him, which you can see on page 3, line 103: ââ¬Å"Nothing else is important, not checking in at registration, not the fact Im covered in bruises from the gang down the road. This quote shows that nothing else than painting is important in his life. But lines were reliable. Iââ¬â¢d always liked lines. Here again, we get the impression that painting means everything to him, since it typically consists of lines. In contrast, he tells the reader that he does not trust words, which could have something to do with his relationship too his mother, because he thinks that the most things she says to him is bullshit. (Page 1, l. 12). The reason he likes lines so much, is becaus

Free Essays on Death And Its Social Implications
Death is the one social process that can be said is universal to all societies. However, what death actually means and the processes surrounding this transition are not so universal. Rituals are one way through which members process their grief and attempt to restore the social order back to their societies. The meaning of death: For the Merina, specific groups of people and specific areas of land are inextricably linked with fertility and the regeneration of life. For them, death is a time of mixed joy and sorrow: sorrow at the fact that they have lost a relative, but joy at the fact that the deceased will be regrouped with the ancestors. Therefore, the Merina funerary practices are centred around the theme of rejoining the ancestors and receiving blessing. The Lugbara see death as being the cause of an external and superhuman power ââ¬â that of divinity. However, because women are associated with the power that comes from divinity, they are seen as the cause of death. Death disturbs the social order and their funerary rituals try to restore this order as fully as possible. There is also a distinction between physical and social deaths, which need not necessarily come together: e.g., in the case of the rain-maker, who undergoes a ââ¬Ësocial deathââ¬â¢ at his time of initiation, when he has a full burial ceremony, and at the time of his physical death, his corpse is disposed of at night and in complete silence. The Cantonese show extreme ambivalence toward the physical remains of the deceased and they consider mentioning the subject of death as bad luck. The bones of the deceased must be preserved as they are essential to the well-being of the descendants but the flesh is highly polluting and must be dealt with very carefully. Hence, the Cantonese funerary rituals involve the managing of the pollution of death and to aid the successful transition of the deceased from a corpse to an ancestor. Business writing - Assignment Example Considering the volume of our consumption, the savings from a lowered fuel cost would surely enhance your bottom line. Conversion is also relatively easy because the conversion kit is readily available and can be easily installed. The conversion cost is minimal which can easily be defrayed by the savings in gas. In addition, the carbon emission of a CNG powered bus is way lower than fossil based fuel thus enabling us to not only help save the environment but also from hefty government fines of smoke belching. Currently, most buses in the United States are already on CNG due to the above mentioned advantages. Cleaning oneââ¬â¢s bathroom can be challenge. Sometimes we are just overwhelmed on the things that needs to cleaned (sink, toilet and tub/shower) that we do not know where to start. We once tried cleaning it ourselves and it felt like it took forever just to clean it. The key to cleaning a bathroom however entails knowing what and how to clean it to be able to finish it quickly. The first step in getting it done efficiently is to remove things that do not belong in the bathroom. Things that are not supposed to be in the bathroom is what makes cleaning it seem to be a drag. One things that do not belong to the bathroom are removed (such as used shirt, trash, hangers, etch), it would be helpful to apply disinfectant and bleaching solution (zonrox) to the tiles, wall, faucet sink, toilet seat and its hole. This will soften the grime and the dirt which makes cleaning more efficient. Leave the disinfectant and bleach for a while. Remove the toiletries and also put disinfectant on their areas. After few minutes, scrub the wall with a cleaning detergent first (I personally prefer Tide). They are easier to scrub with soap now because the bleaching solution melted the grimes. Then the faucet sink, the cabinets and the tub. Clean the toilet bowl last so that the disinfectant and bleaching

A Need for Offender Programs and Treatments Before Release Research Proposal - 1
A Need for Offender Programs and Treatments Before Release - Research Proposal Example The study will utilize questionnaire and interviews in the effort to obtain information from offenders and correctional facility officers. It is apparent that the issue of offender programs and their effectiveness has been contentious for a long time, especially in relation to their effectiveness. Apparently, this has been a concern because of the effects they have on offenders in terms of their behavior modification. Although offender programs are designed to correct behaviors of offenders, there is a need to have an effort to change their behavious. This can be enhanced during and after they have been released from correction facilities. The Alabama Department of Corrections operates 29 facilities within the state. Currently, the facility hosts around 13, 200 offenders. Pre release and reentry programs are the major programs offered by the Alabama Department of Corrections. Among other things, these programs aim at providing transitional case management services. The main focus on such services includes identifying inmate basic and technical needs, which aims at linking the offender with resources prior to his release.
